digital storyteller
It was in high school that Sharick developed a love for filmmaking after receiving an 8mm movie camera. At the time, his family lived on 5 acres of property. So during his junior year, he constructed an old west movie set in the backyard. It had 6 buildings, including a bank, livery stable, and saloon. The finished project was a 4 minute western movie, which actually won 3rd place at a state-level media contest. When Sharick graduated high school, he decided to follow his artistic and creative dreams by earning a college degree in Communications and Art, studying film, TV, and theater. By the time Sharick graduated from college, the visual medium of film was gradually overtaken by the medium of video. The world of digital filmmaking was becoming more dominant. While working in the field of TV broadcasting, he began to hone his skills in digital storytelling. Sharick has produced, directed, edited, and served as on-camera talent for documentaries and numerous video productions for broadcasting companies, churches, museums, and other entities. He finds extreme satisfaction in telling a great story in the digital sphere.
